Ahoy there!

Lachie's 5th birthday was so much swashbuckling fun. Dave completed the pirate ship tree house just in time, it nearly killed him but all for a very good reason. Lachlan had a fantastic day and felt extremely special as the captain for the day.

Lachie and I went on an excursion with my class to the forest kingdom today. Really got back to nature on our bush walk and are both pretty bushed now. Beautiful weather and a great day had by all.

Here's Lachie and his clay bush creation that we made at the end of the walk.

Baby Chicks

We are the proud carers of 2 new baby chicks. They are sooooooooo cute and the kids just love them. Trying to get them to love them just a bit less is the trick. Piper especially wants to carry her chick, Feathers, around all the time but luckily she understands they need a nap every now and then so I can give them a breather. Tried taking some photos this morning but after the birthday my camera is outta battery so will have to wait to get some new ones before I can share the chicks with you all.
Other than that its ANZAC day today so not doing too much. Might take the kids to see a movie as we have tickets that expire this month. Other than that Dave needs some down time as he's been working very long hours.

Princess Piper's 3rd Birthday

Dora rules!!! It was a wonderfully Dora party that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Piper's smile was on her face the whole time. Her favourite part was blowing out her candles and having her friends come to her place. Lachie's favourite was jumping on Piper's new trampoline (well a shared pressie really) and helping her open her presents. Mum's favorite part was Nanny was there to help and give fabulous support and that the birthday cakes turned out just as they should. Daddy's favourite was coming home from work to find all he had to do was socialise and enjoy the party. Happy Birthday Piper xxxx

Holiday fun!!!

Hi all hope you have had as restful and fun time as we have had over the Chrissy/New Years period. We have had a houseful for about a week, the last of our guest heading back to their homes this morning. Here's some photos of what we got up to, at the kids museum constructing buildings, at the train museum seeing the Thomas the tank engine exhibition, excavating dinosaur bones and sliding down the grassy slope.

And the Silly season is Continuing!!

Just what do the Norton's get up to for after dinner tricks??? Tonight it was the ol' spoon on the nose. Kept us amused for an embarrassingly long time, Piper is particularly adept at it, Mum was pathetic!

Let the silly season begin

Last night we officially started the Christmas festivities with the kids Christmas party at their daycare. Despite the heavy rain it was a great evening complete with an African drummer, a dance performance with Lachie and Piper showing their groove thing, face painting, Spiderman jumping castle and of cause Santa. All the children received a lovely book from the centre and a good time was had by all. Tonight Aunty Tan has babysitting duties while we go out for my work Christmas dinner. And then the social engagement keep flowing. Just love it!!!
Hope all is well and happy your end.
here's the first of my Merry Christmas greetings,

Now with my flash new equipment (thank you my darling hubby) I feel energised to blog away.

Just a few shots, Lachie at a playgroup birthday party, really getting into his tiger character. And at Steve and Tarn's wedding in Sawtell last month. All good here just waiting for Piper to wake so we can head over to a friends place for a BBQ.

Don't believe everything you read however well meaning.

I am pretty sure that unless I contact you and let you know that there's a new message on my blog you would have all given up checking it out. And who can blame you my last message suggested I would post more regularly but what can I say lifes busy and the time to play on the internet very very short soooooo I will do what I can but no promises. We are all good here (just had to stop potential problem as Lachie and Piper fight, I mean play.) I have just finished a major online course for work. Did I mention it was huge. It has been going since June I think and the last month I have been completely absorbed with it. Handed it in last week so fingers crossed. Now I have this free time! I should be cleaning and organising but playing online is more appealing at the moment. Hope all is well with you and your fam.

Keeping it regular

Hi all, well things are still manic but I am determined to put a little pressure on the breaks so lets see how we go. There's nothing visual this week as I still have to download all the party photos so the camera is full but I just wanted to try and write at least once a week otherwise before I know it a month or 2 have flashed by. Lachie and Piper do a extra class at kindy which is dancing. Lachie thinks its fine but apparently Piper is quite taken with it and only wants Miss Rena (the dance teacher) once her lesson is over. We had a quieter weekend which was nica as every morning Lachie asks 'Where are we going today?' so its kind of a treat to not really have any particular plans and things just happen. Well, next week there's bound to be more snap shots.

Princess Piper's Birthday

Dear all

Hard to believe that our little girl is now 2!!!!

We had a wonderful party today for her, thanks to my special group of party co-ordinators and hands on support team. I'm pretty worn out so here's a few photos to give you an idea of our day.

Half way through

Well half way through our Easter Weekend and so far all systems go. Many miles travelled and socialising accomplished. Lachie had a ball, literally, at bowling and got quite a surprise at how heavy the balls were, once he lifted it and stopped trying to push it back down the shoot. He actually showed me an independent side that I'm not sure I'm ready for when he was with his mates at bowling and really wanted me as far from the action as possible (unless I proved useful like getting his shoelace knot untied or providing sustinence.) I'm trying to think I misheard the 'go away mum' comment but that could really just be selective deafness.

It was great to catch up with old school buds and Southbank as always wore the kids out so we have 2 sleeping angels awaiting the Easter Bunnies arrival, that reminds me Lachie told me to put a carrot out and I forgot! Here's some shots of the kids in their Easter Bonnets and of cause the now professional ten pin bowler.

Looking forward to the rest of the fun the weekend has to offer and maybe even some downtime!!!!

We're Back!!!!!

Don't you just hate it when a fantastic idea falls flat!!!! Well folks that was my blogging experience. Tried so desparately hard to post all about our adventures when we were in Africa but it didn't seem to want to work so not wanting to muck around too much with Les' computer (which is a wonderful machine) I thought I'd do it all back home. You know what thought, thought don't you???? Anyway I finally had a bit of time and most importantly patience and alakazam things seem to be working!!!!! Anyway all good here I've just finished a very overwhelming term at my new school and am on holidays for Easter break. We have of cause been using every minute of everyday to run here there and everywhere and try and do absolutely everything. A very wise friend asked me why I was so busy and I don't have a succinct answer but anyway gotta hurry as of cause I have a million and one things to do and we have a huge long weekend planned which includes trips to the Gold Coast, a wedding, a park picnic, catching up with old school friends at Southbank, a family good Friday, Easter, fixing a car, an overnight stay away, a birthday party and of cause chores. And that's this long weekend! Gotta slow down just not sure how. Now that we are hopefully back on track here's a few photos from Dreamworld, where we hung out mainly in Wiggles World of cause last month.

An, At Home Day

Just for a bit of a change I worked yesterday and am at home today. So after a bit of a sleep in, 7am as opposed to 5 something we got up did our jobs and then had some fun with playdough. Lachie made a great birthday cake for me complete with about a zillion toothpick candles but told me I was 5 years old. Next we played with the paint scrapers and created this masterpiece. Will probably have some active time this arvo when it cools down a bit. I have also included some of the kids art from kindy as it is so beautifully presented.

A lazy Saturday

Well with lots to do and time running short its a good idea to have friends over and laze the day away eating too much and well just hanging out. Seriously I think all is good to go for our trip, 12 days but who's counting, and sometimes things just happen! Lachie decided to be the photographer today and although there were lot of blurry shots and heaps of the ground and peoples feet (gotta love digital, delete) he did manage a good one of the boys in recovery mode after a night at our local. Toni and I of cause played the babysitters club. Also got a photo of Dave's backyard pram the wheelbarrow! Talk soon,

Lachie's Zoo

Lachie loves his animals and had fun inside on a very windy day building a zoo for some of his animal. We also made a farmyard from the useful box but Demolition Piper upset this before any photos could be taken. Not much else today just great kite weather but not good if you have allergies which I do so we spent a lot of time inside wrecking the house. Talk soon, Ang
